Week Three Manual vs Trinity

The game of the week lived up to it’s billing. Although the outcome was disappointing, The Old Goats found out the boys can come back from a double digit deficit twice (17-7 and 24-14) against one of the most successful programs in the history of Kentucky High School football.

It has been confirmed that the Trinity coaching staff stiffed Coach Nichols on the game tape exchange. Classy touch guys. As if they don’t have every other advantage, they stoop to that.

This week sends The Old Goats to Bowling Green to play Warren Central. Manual is 3-0 against the Dragons. The most memorable game in the series has to be the 1988 State semifinal.Trailing 7-0 in the second quarter, Quarterback Keith Thompson was injured with Manual driving in Warren Central territory. With everyone in Cardinal Stadium thinking that the sub Philip Bridges would handoff on his first play in the game, he threw a pass that was complete on the 1-yard line. Manual scored on the next play and went on to win 25-7.

Warren Central is 2-1 this year. With wins over Frankin-Simpson and Paducah Tilghman. They lost last week to Bowling Green 14-6. That is no disgrace. BG only lost to St.X 13-6 to open the season.
