Playoffs Round One

The first two rounds of the playoffs are rematches and this week five locals teams served up some vengeance.

Ballard (6-5) used some trickerations to dispatch Eastern (7-4) and end Steve Ferguson's great career 27-13. The Bruins had lost to the Eagles only two weeks ago 23-22.

Oldham County (4-7) turned the tables on J-Town (4-7) 35-19. The Colonels avenged a regular season loss to the Chargers 36-13.

North Bullitt (7-4) pounded archrival Bullitt East (5-6) 40-14. Coach Newtons' "knuckleheads" dropped the first meeting 35-42.

E-Town (7-4) drubbed Moore (3-8) 35-0. The wounded Mustangs were nowhere near the team they were when they defeated the Panthers 48-44 at mid-season.

The amazing Rockets of Shelby County (7-4) scored the final 21 points to defeat Scott County (9-2) 60-56. Scott County had won the first shootout 40-34.

There were two near major upsets. Waggener (2-9) fell one point short of cutting the season short for Doss (7-4). The Wildcats were trounced four weeks earlier by the Dragons 54-20. Doss escaped 21-20 after Waggener scored the final 14 points. Manual (10-1) survived a furious second half comeback after leading PRP 14-0 at the half. PRP(4-7) went for two in OT and couldn't convert and the Crimsons escaped 21-20.
