Season in Review

The march to the state championship officially starts this week. I want to thank all the teams and everyone involved in high school football for providing another year of good clean fun. High School football in Kentucky is a quality product.

St. Xavier is currently ranked very high nationally and if there is better team in the country, I would like to see a game between the two.

The year was marked by tragedy before the first game with the death of PRP Sophomore Max Gilpan and then interrupted by of all things Hurricane Ike.

Butler finished strong after ending a 23 game skid.

Bullitt Central finished 8-2 and won the county championship after years of futility. Danny Leasor has my uncounted vote for coach of the year.

Eastern finished 9-1. The only loss coming to three time defending champ Trinity.

Seneca featured a very talented group of Sophomores who will make some noise in the near future.

Doss made great strides capturing a district title after upsetting John Hardin.

Shawnee finished with it's first winning season since 1970.

Manual defeated Male 41-21. It was only the second consecutive win in the ancient series since 1988.
